The vast spectrum of sounds that we hear have their origin
in the single Pranavam " Aum".Every Karnatic musician
acklowledges this great spiritual truth and hence Karnatic
music itself has the dance of divinity flowing freely in every
note. The spiritual aspect of music has a special place in
the heart of Sri. M.R.Lenin who is the founder of Prenavam
Kala Saadhana. It was his spiritual guide, Guru Nitya
Chaitanya Yati, who encouraged him to undergo musical
  training.

Blessed with quiet disposition,Lenin has over the years
gathered a vast reservoir of knowledge about his art from
his native state of Kerala. He graduated at the Swathi
  Thirunal Music College,Trivandrum, as "Ganabhooshanaam
in 1988 and as "Ganapraveena" in 1992.M.R. Lenin has also
had the opportunity of being trained by Professor Thiagarajan
and Professor Avaneeswaram Ramachandran. He also had
the honour of undergoing a one-year stint of "gurukulavasam"
at Ooty under the personal guidance of Seshadiri
  Bhagavathar.

When he arrived in Singapore in 1992,at the age of 25,it was
not long before local arts circle was made to sit up and take
notice of his great talent. He started off as the resident music
teacher at Narayana Gurukula. He was soon appointed as a
music teacher by the People's Association for the purpose
of conducting classes at community centres. He then struck
upon the idea of running his own music and dance school,
Prenavam Kala Saadhana. The primary objective of this
school is to teach and guide students of every conceivable
background and to make the classical arts available and
  appreciated widely.

In the 11years that he has been living in Singapore, Lenin has
performed widely and received acclaim here as well as in
Malaysia and India. He has also made appearances on
television and radio as well as making several vocal
recordings which have been released on Compact Disc.
Some of his own collections are Sai Baba devotional songs,
Layanam Golden Melodies,Darshanam devotional songs and
Classics in Harmony, a unique blend of Indian Classical and
Western music made to the traditional Karnatic krithis. His
latest creation "Aarohana" is an audio disc containing basic
lessons in Karnatic in five phases starting from "sruthi to
swarajathi" in sequence, reflecting a structured method of
classroom settings taught by a guru to the student. This
unique CD created by Sri M.R.Lenin not only aids students to
practise and revise music but also enjoy listening to the
lessons and theory at the same time.

Above all Sri M.R Lenin is mindful of the spiritual heritage that
abides in Indian classical music and never fails to make the
acknowledgement that his success is attributed to the
blessings of his spiritual Guru. Likewise, it is hope that
every student that comes to Prenavam Kala Saadhana will
carry back with him or her,the same sensitivity and
  reverence towards the classical arts.
